Hablas español?
A.¡Sí! Si es preferido, tengo mis reservas de sesiones y todos los contratos traducidos al español para enviar.
How should we dress for our family session?
A.Outfit colors will vary per session type because of lighting, theme, or location. The most popular colors are neutrals and blue tones. Avoid dressing siblings in the same exact attire. Try to set something that will differentiate everyone individually but also connect everyone with certain colors. Avoid sports watches, baseball caps, and sunglasses unless you prefer those in your photos. Upon booking, we can communicate for outfit ideas and create vision or Pinterest boards!
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
A.That is perfectly ok! Sometimes the best photos come from being a little shy. I am hoping to be able to talk before and during the session to get you comfortable. Kids will normally be shy, but any talk of their favorite things will usually get them smiling.
Can I include other family members or friends apart from my immediate family?
A.For mini sessions, immediate family members and grandparents are usually okay. Anyone outside of that circle will require back-to-back bookings to ensure there will be enough time. For regular sessions, anyone is welcome as long as you understand that the more people there are, there will be a more variety of groups in your photos. If additional time is needed for a regular portrait session due to the amount of people, an additional fee may apply.
How and when will we receive our pictures?
A.For portrait sessions, you will receive your photos via a link in your email to a private online gallery within a minimum of 10 business days and up to 21 business days, not including the day of your session or weekends. You will then download all of your photos in the gallery before the gallery expiration date.
During slow seasons, your may get your gallery a lot sooner! During holiday seasons and heavy wedding seasons, there may be a slightly longer wait.
For events and weddings, due to the volume of photos taken, your gallery may take anywhere between 3 weeks to 12 weeks from the date of your event. Full day weddings can take up to 16 weeks.
I am very blessed to stay busy throughout the year and I do my best to keep you updated. Please remember that you are not my only client and I am also a mom of 3 little boys. I am super patient with my clients and hope you can be as well if there is a delay.
What if I need my photos sooner than the 10 business days?
A.No worries!! I offer expedited editing turnaround times if you absolutely need the images sooner.
Depending on your package, the turnaround times include:
- Same Day or 24-Hours
- 48-Hours
- 72-Hours
- 5 Days
Please remember that the sooner your need it, the higher the fee will be as I am putting your session above everyone else's.
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
A.Newborn sessions are best within the first 2 weeks after birth as this is when they are the sleepiest, but can be as late as a month (baby's eyes may be open from 2-4 weeks). I am confident with newborn sessions up to 8 weeks for sleepy photos. If you're okay with baby being wide awake, we can get great big smiles between 8-10 weeks.
For sessions in your home, 9am to 2pm are usually the best times to allow a lot of natural light. This WILL vary depending on how your home is facing and the amount of natural light that comes in your home at certain times. I DO bring studio lighting anyway which will be handy just in case.
For sessions at my At-Home studio, 10 am to 4pm is fine. I will have off-camera flash with me at all newborn sessions.
I am very flexible with time as I understand that not everything goes as planned with a newborn as long as there is open communication.
What if I am late or need to reschedule or cancel my session?
A.As a mom of 3 little boys myself, I understand that life happens. I usually request to let me know as soon as possible to see if I can change your time or reschedule your session to a later date. The booking retainer is non-refundable.
If your session includes a photography permit (regular portrait packages), those are usually non-refundable and may need to be paid again. Some locations offer a secondary date due to weather.
If you no-show, the retainer is non-refundable.
